A collection of stories, anecdotes, poems, jokes and illustrations by 500 children in Ireland who come from all over the world. As part of the Children’s Book Festival 2007, Kids’ Own worked with children in Mayo, Donegal, Dublin and Cork to capture their real thoughts, experiences and voices about who they are and what they think about living in Ireland today.

This book also celebrates the different languages and cultures we have in Ireland today.

I come from Poland. I have a little secret, when the moon is upon the sky I am turning into a butterfly. When I came to Ireland I was a bit scared because I was in a plane at night and then a miracle happened. I didn’t turn into a butterfly, it was confusing. Every night when I am happy I am staying in my body, but when I am sad I turn into a butterfly.
