Artwork and stories by children from St Joseph’s Special School, Sligo
Meet the fabulous creative and caring students at St. Joseph’s Special School in Ballytivnan Sligo, who wrote and illustrated this book. From January to April 2025, these twelve young people engaged in art workshops with a Kids’ Own artist and writer, exploring colour, and telling their stories in all kinds of ways.
LIVE. GROW. SHINE. is a heartwarming book about friendship, having fun and growing up, by special people. We hope

The entire process of creating this book was as meaningful as the finished work itself. This book stands as a testament
to the importance of nurturing creativity in young people. It celebrates not only the art that was made but also the young
artists who made it.
