Vanya Lambrecht Ward is a visual artist and designer based in the Northwest of Ireland. She currently lectures at IT Sligo on the Performing Arts Course and has worked with the Dock Arts Center on many different Projects over the last 5 years and with Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership since 2008. She also works with the Arts Council as a creative Associate, with the Irish Architectural Foundation as an Architect in School and Sligo’s Cairde Arts Festival as the facilitator for their Young Curators Program.
Vanya works with a variety of mediums through sculptural installation, paper construction, site specific work and photography. Her practice combines art, architecture and many other strands in order to investigate and explore how we experience, perceive and create our built and natural environments. This can take the form of an event, a book, a small or sizeable 3 dimensional piece, but always with immense curiosity and exploration at its core.
Martha van der Meulen is an artist from the Netherlands and lives and works in her studio Knocknageeha in Ballintogher since 2003.
In her studio she creates art works and designs from recycled inner bicycle and car tubes. Here she experiments and combines these materials with paint, fabrics, sewing and weaving. The products can be functional designs like handbags, backpacks and jewellery. But also art projects in which materials are combined into sculptures, woven material, paintings and pictures.
Her studio in Knocknageeha is a creative hub open to the local community for art workshops.
Anna Spearman is a visual artist based in Sligo. She holds a BA in History of Art (TCD), a BA in Fine Art (IT Sligo), and an MA in Fine Art: Contemporary Practice (University College Falmouth).
She is currently a studio artist at The Model in Sligo.
Anna’s practice is multi-faceted. Her studio practice is primarily concerned with the world of materiality, and the curious and playful language inherent in the processes of both object-making and painting. In tandem, she pursues a diverse socially engaged and collaborative practice which draws on her background in community development and her interest in education. Anna is also a Creative Associate with the Arts Council’s Creative Schools programme.
