Kids’ Own TADA! Exhibition Moves to Jackie Clarke Museum, Mayo

We’re excited to share the latest news about the TADA! exhibition. Recently hosted at the F.E. McWilliam Gallery & Studio in Co. Down, the exhibition wrapped up on May 25th.

But the journey doesn’t end here! Thanks to the funding from the Cruinniú na nÓg Shared Island initiative, through Mayo County Council, a part of the TADA! exhibition will be traveling to the Jackie Clarke Museum in Ballina for Cruinniú na nÓg, opening early June. There are also a series of workshops to celebrate the move of the exhibition from Banbridge to Ballina!

On Monday 25th of May, a group of children and their families got together with Kids’ Own artist Sharon Kelly for a very special creative session at F.E McWilliam Gallery and Studio to say goodbye to TADA! and to wave hello to the children who will see it in Mayo! Children and families created different figures, which will pop up in the Ballina exhibition!

Workshops in FE McWilliam Gallery and Studio, Banbridge, and Jackie Clarke Museum/Ballina Library, on Cruinniú na nÓg

In collaboration with Mayo County Council and the F.E. McWilliam Gallery, Kids’ Own will facilitate two workshops for children aged 8-12 in Banbridge, Co. Down of which the first took place yesterday. The second will take place on Cruinniú na nÓg on 15th June. Simultaneously, part of the TADA! exhibition will open at the Jackie Clarke Museum  in early June. Both locations will host linked workshops on Cruinniú na nÓg, allowing children from County Down and County Mayo to interact online and collaborate creatively.

These workshops will engage children in each county in visual arts activities and creative writing. Guided by Kids’ Own artists and writers, the children will explore themes such as home, community, identity, and belonging, inspired by the This Giant Tent book. They’ll have the chance to read and respond to the voices of other children, creating their own art and stories in the process.

Watch this space as we will reveal more details about the workshops soon!
