World Read Aloud Day

As part of World Read Aloud Day on 24th February, our newest team member Imelda took the opportunity to visit some local schools to join the teachers in celebrating books and to foster a love of books amongst their pupils.

In Taunagh N.S in Riverstown, Principal Linda McMahon read aloud our recent publication Bouncing Away, a book written by children in Co. Sligo about the ups and downs of life and how to deal with them. The older boys and girls also read to the younger pupils.

The Read Aloud Sessions were a really enjoyable experience for all involved and it was heart-warming to see the care and kindness shown to the younger pupils by the Seniors. Thank you to Kids’ Own for telling us about this event, we will definitely be doing it again.’ – Principal Linda McMahon
