We launched a brand new book with the HSA!

‘Only a giant can lift a bull’ will soon be available in all primary schools and all libraries in the country.

Boots stuck in mud, cats that eat wasps, cows that kick, and horses who eat flowery coats…. these are just some of the things that the Health & Safety Authority’s new young ambassadors of farm safety told us about when we worked with them on an important and exciting new book project about farm life and how to stay safe on farms, last summer. The resulting publication is Only a Giant Can Lift a Bull, which was launched by Minister for Agriculture, Marine & Food, Simon Coveney on Thursday 28th November at Croke Park. Kids’ Own was delighted to work with the Health & Safety Authority and Kilkenny Education Centre on the creation of this brand new book. The Health & Safety Authority has an important role in promoting safe working practice on farms, which are workplaces with a high rate of accidents and mortality, but which are also the home place of so many children across Ireland. The new young ambassadors demonstrate great knowledge and understanding of farm life, and also tell us how much they love living on and visiting farms. But they also give us some very important messages about the real dangers of living and working on family farms.
