Virtually There: summer events at Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda

The Virtually There exhibition tour launches on 9 August 2014 at Highlanes Gallery in Drogheda. Virtually There showcases artwork created by artists, children and teachers through online residencies.

In conjunction with this exhibition, there will be a number of events at Highlanes for children, parents, teachers and artists.

Wednesday 6 August
Clay Figures: Here today – gone tomorrow?
1.30 – 4.00 pm /6 – 10yrs / €5
***this workshop is now fully booked***

Working with artist Andrew Livingstone children will learn how to model clay and sculpt their own small figure. The aim of this workshop is to create a set of small clay figures that will be placed outside the galley to be eroded by the weather. The figures will become part of the Virtually There exhibition and visitors to the gallery will be able to view the change in the work over the period of the exhibition. The figures will ultimately dissolve through exposure to the natural elements.
