Kids’ Own is hosting a summer course for primary school teachers in partnership with The Education Centre, Tralee. This course aims to equip teachers with confidence and skills in relation to their own approaches to working with children in the classroom.

The key aims of the course are:

• For teachers to experience approaches that place the creative process at the heart of learning
• To equip participants with the confidence to make space for the child’s voice within the classroom
• To support a process of developing themes and ideas in a spirit of experimentation
• To explore how children can take an active part in their own learning
• To encourage and value children’s individual original thoughts and responses within the classroom.

Led by artists Orla Kenny and Ann Donnelly, this course has a strong focus on the creative process and will be of interest to teachers who have a particular interest in cross-curricular and blended learning approaches.
