by Kids’ Own
A childrens arts organisation and publishing house.
This past Saturday, Kids’ Own Publishing was honoured to be a finalist in the Arts and Culture category of the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2024. The event took place at Killashee House in Naas, where we joined many inspiring organisations dedicated to making a difference in communities across Ireland.
Though we didn’t take home the award in our category, we were proud to be surrounded by so many worthy causes. A huge congratulations to Helium Arts, the winners of the Arts and Culture category, and to the overall winners, Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity. Both organisations are doing incredible work, and it was a privilege to share this experience with them.
We were also delighted that our own associate writer, Mary Branley, was a nominee for the Hero of the Year award. Although she didn’t make it to the top, Mary will always be our hero for her dedication to supporting children’s voices and creativity.
Our CEO Ciara Gallagher said, “It was an honour for Kids’ Own to be recognised among such impactful organisations. Being in the company of organisations that do such good in their communities and across Ireland was a privilege and it is lovely to see our organisation valued for our mission of connecting children, artists, and communities through the arts and publishing. Congratulations to the winners!”
We are grateful for the opportunity to participate and to continue highlighting the importance of the arts in the lives of children across Ireland.
