SMILY Sligo Video Project – Celebrating Individuality and LGBTQI+ Voices

We are excited to introduce our video project in collaboration with SMILY Sligo, funded by Youth Work Ireland North Connaught, aimed at empowering young people to express themselves and address LGBTQI+ issues that matter to them. This project is made possible through the combined efforts of talented individuals, including artist Fergal Brennan, writer Mary Branley, and associate writer Sarah O’Keeffe.

Our video project involves young people from SMILY Sligo who have come together to create an animation video that celebrates individuality, togetherness, and sheds light on LGBTQI+ issues that hold significant importance in their lives. It is a journey of self-expression and exploration as these young minds collaborate with our team of professionals.

We kicked off this project during the week of the med term, dedicating hours of hard work, creativity, and a dash of fun, with the added bonus of pizza! Our passionate team of young individuals, guided by our expert artist and writers, has been tirelessly working to bring this video to life.

We are excited to announce that we have another session planned for later in November, where we will put the finishing touches on the video project. We invite you to stay tuned for the upcoming video, which promises to be a celebration of diversity, individuality, and the LGBTQI+ community’s voices.

In the meantime, we are also working on gathering images and other content for the video.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for our SMILY Sligo video project. We look forward to sharing our work with you when the video is due to be released.
