Opportunity for Artists: Extended Deadline

Call for Artists: Extended Deadline

Being and Belonging: Cross-border arts & early years initiative

Brief

Kids’ Own is delighted to invite expressions of interest from artists to work with parents and young children in border communities as part of a brand new exploratory early years and family learning project, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Reconciliation Fund.

This pilot initiative, delivered by Kids’ Own in partnership with Early Childhood Ireland and Early Years – the organisation for young children, Northern Ireland, aims to connect parent-toddler groups in four locations within the border region and to explore the value of early intervention and artistic play on child development and learning.

Four artists will be selected to work one day per week, over a 7-week period in each location. Artists of any discipline may apply.

Each artist will be paid a fee of €1550, which includes travel costs and materials budget.

To apply, artists should send:

  • An expression of interest;
  • CV and details of any experience working with young children (birth-3 years) and their parents;
  • Examples of your work.

To: Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership Ltd., Carrigeens, Ballinful, Co. Sligo. (Postal submissions only)

The deadline for receipt of submissions has been extended until Monday 17th September 2012
