by Kids’ Own
A children’s arts organisation and publishing house.
Kids’ Own is looking for new members for our Board of Directors. We are seeking expressions of interest from potential new members who want to join our exciting team on a voluntary basis and help to make a difference in children’s lives. We welcome applications from dynamic individuals who will be committed to our mission and values and complement the range of skills and experience of our existing Board.
We would like to diversify our Board to better reflect the communities of children that we support, so we particularly welcome applications from people whose identities and voices are underrepresented in our society.
We have skills gaps in the following areas:
– Financial management – particularly within the non-profit sector
– Corporate marketing
– Communications and fundraising
About Kids’ Own
Kids’ Own is a children’s arts organisation and publishing house and Ireland’s only dedicated publisher of books by children, for children. Kids’ Own works in defense of children’s right to culture and supports their individual creative expression through publishing and the arts. Kids’ Own is driven by a passionate belief in the intrinsic value of the arts in children’s lives; as a source of joy, fulfilment and connection. We work to give children greater access to cultural expression and to be actively, creating, enquiring, communicating and making meaning through the arts.
Kids’ Own recognizes children’s multiple modes of expression and the diversity of their lived experiences. Over the past number of years, we have worked with very diverse groups of children of all ages, including those experiencing racism and other forms of social isolation, children living in temporary accommodation, Direct Provision or foster care, and children from migrant backgrounds.
