Traveller Wellbeing Through Creativity – Arts in Early Learning and Childcare Settings.
Kids’ Own, in Partnership with the Leitrim Traveller Project, have received funding through the Traveller Wellbeing Through Creativity Fund to run an Arts in Early Learning and Care Project. Taking place at Shannonside Childcare, Carrick On Shannon, artists Francesca Hutchinson and Maree Hensey will be working with pre-school aged children on a ten week project that explores artmaking, creativity and wellbeing.
As part of this project we are inviting expressions of interest from Early Career Visual Artists from the Traveller Community who wish to develop their practice in the area of Children and Young People. The selected applicant will shadow Francesca and Maree on the project and be provided with a supportive opportunity to learn about best practice in this unique and growing area of visual arts.
A participation fee of €750 and travel costs up to €800 euro will be provided.
How to apply:
Applicants are asked to send a brief outline of their art practice and why they wish to take part in this program. Please include some images of your work.
If you would like to make a submission through a different format, for example aurally, please contact [email protected].
The deadline for applications is the 17th July.
Questions can be sent to [email protected]
