Workshop Details
This one-week summer camp is free to attend and perfect for kids aged 8–12 years old. You can choose between two sessions: Monday, July 29 to Thursday, August 1 Or Tuesday, August 6 to Friday, August 9. The workshops will run daily from 2 pm to 4 pm at Rougey Suite, Bundoran Community Development, F91 RH33 To book your spot, please email Yuliia Melynk [email protected]
In these workshops, children will work with a Kids’ Own artist and writer to create a book that reflects their cultural experiences and stories. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, learn about different cultures, and express yourself through art and writing.
The project is part of Kids’ Own’s initiative to foster intercultural exchange among children, with a particular focus on working with the Ukrainian children in the local community. With the support of the Movement for Good Awards from Benefact Group, Kids’ Own is thrilled to embark on this journey of creativity and cultural celebration.
The project will culminate in a multilingual book, which will be distributed to schools across Ireland, touching the lives of thousands of children.
We are delighted to partner with Donegal Local Development Company (DLDC), who bring immense experience in community development and support. Special thanks to the New Communities Programme team, including Yuliia Melnyk, Community Links Officer, Martin McDevitt, Community Development Manager, and Joleen Kuyper Machado, New Communities Manager, for their invaluable contributions.
This project is generously funded by the Benefact Group through the Movement for Good Awards, which aims to make a significant difference in communities by supporting projects in education, community development, heritage, arts and culture, and more.
