Killard House School – Virtually There exhibition

Artist: Julie Forrester
Teacher: Wendy Davey

You think you know it all after twenty-three years of teaching art. You have your own style of teaching even in a foreign land. You have your great teaching notes and resources in abundance. You have carved out a role for yourself influencing how others teach art.

Then you have an opportunity to learn again, to be taught again, and not just by a practising artist but by your pupils. The ones you have guided teach you how to just let things happen. We, as art teachers, sometimes lose the ability to work organically and see what happens. That’s the way we worked at art college. We become so caught up in the daily job of being a teacher that we forget how it was to just play.

Every second is a journey.

Flat space holds an image
Ideas shuffle between us conversations held for a moment and moving on.

Remember this?
How do we remember?
The whisper mutates
held for a moment, moving on.
