Job Opportunity: Kids’ Own seeks Communications and Marketing Officer (part-time)

Kids’ Own is delighted to invite applications for the role of Communications and Marketing Officer (part-time).

The Communications and Marketing Officer will work closely with other team members to support the communications and marketing activities of Kids’ Own. This will include providing marketing and communications support for larger projects managed by Kids’ Own such as the Arts in Education Portal, where required.

The specifications of the role are set out below.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO and Operations Manager, duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Effectively communicating Kids’ Own’s mission, vision, and values through all public communications.
  • Ensuring Kids’ Own’s work and ethos is understood by various, relevant audiences.
  • Delivering effective, cohesive, and engaging brand messaging.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of a marketing and communications plan, including a digital marketing plan, in collaboration with Kids’ Own team members.
  • Writing and signing off copy for all marketing materials, including but not limited to website content, media releases, email newsletters, posters, and flyers.
  • Creating and implementing engaging social media content across key platforms for Kids’ Own and the Arts in Education Portal, in collaboration with the Kids’ Own team.
  • Ongoing website management including regular content updates and management of the eCommerce Bookshop.
  • Assisting with the management of the Arts in Education Portal website, in collaboration with the Arts in Education Portal Manager.
  • Contributing to communications reports for stakeholders with the CEO, where required.
  • Executing online marketing strategies, including website development, social media, online content and digital advertising i.e.  Adwords, Facebook and Instagram advertising.
  • Planning and implementation of short, medium, and long-term marketing campaigns on and offline.
  • Measuring, reporting and making recommendations on the performance of all marketing campaigns.

Essential requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A third level qualification in the field of marketing, communications or digital marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in communications and marketing.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing marketing campaigns including email, social media and/or digital advertising campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications. Shortlisted applicants will be required to provide writing samples.
  • Ability to multitask, work to deadlines, and prioritise competing demands.
  • A strong interest in the arts and arts in education, and a commitment to Kids’ Own’s values and ethos.

 

Requisite skills

It is desired that the successful applicant would have:

  • Experience in working with non-profit or charitable organisations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work well as part of a small team.

 

Hybrid working is an option for this role but candidates must be able to attend weekly team meetings at Kids’ Own offices in Sligo.

Terms

This is a part-time role (3 days p/week) with an initial contract of 9 months, with a view to extension.

Salary: €30,000 (pro-rata)
