Foróige Leitrim’s health & wellbeing project

Kids’ Own has had a busy couple of weeks working with a group of young people from Foróige Leitrim on a project focused on health and wellbeing. This project is connected to our recent work with Foróige Sligo on the same issues and is also funded by Sligo Leitrim Children and Young People’s Committee (CYPSC). We are delighted to be involved in this project that allows young people to have their voices heard on the issues that matter to them, as well as having a positive creative experience that they lead and develop.

Our art workshops took place outdoors in the Market Yard in Carrick-on-Shannon, and participants worked alongside artist Andy Parsons to develop their ideas and responses, but also to explore materials, experiment with different techniques, and to have fun! We’re looking forward to the next part of this project with Foróige Leitrim and Sligo, which will showcase the young people’s work to wider audiences across communities in both counties.
