*Position Filled* Call for Expressions of Interest: Ukrainian Artist/Writer for Collaborative Book Project

POSITION FILLED

Kids’ Own, a children’s arts organisation and publishing house, is thrilled to announce a new collaborative book project in partnership with Donegal Local Development Company, funded by Movement for Good. We are seeking expressions of interest from Ukrainian artists or writers to join us in this exciting venture.

Project Details:

  • Location:  Bundoran, Donegal.
  • Dates:  Late July to early August 2024.
  • Opportunity:  This is a paid opportunity.
  • Travel & Accommodation: Travel costs will be covered, and accommodation provided if required.

This project aims to bring together Ukrainian and local children to create a book that reflects their unique stories and experiences. Working alongside Kids’ Own associate Artists and Writers, the selected artist or writer will engage with the children through creative workshops, fostering a collaborative environment that celebrates and amplifies young voices.  This project will invite children to share their stories about Ukrainian, Irish, and other cultures, and to create artwork together. We will also explore themes of community, home, and family, providing a rich and inclusive environment for children to express their experiences and perspectives.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to working creatively and collaboratively with children and young people.
  • A passion for advocating for children’s voices.
  • Availability to work on the project in late July and early August 2024.

This initiative, funded by the Arts Council, includes mentorship support for the selected artist or writer, ensuring a rich and supportive creative environment.

If you are a Ukrainian artist or writer interested in contributing to this meaningful project, please submit your expression of interest by Monday the 1st of July. We look forward to the opportunity to work together to create something truly special for the children of Bundoran.

Please email [email protected] to express your interest or for any queries.
