Known for her thoughtful engagement with environmental themes and community participation, Ruth started the autumn season in bringing the project to life.
Le Gear has also worked on several successful projects, such as the Story Shed with Sligo Children’s Community Garden, The Seed Project with the Irish Hospice Foundation, and the Intergenerational Podcast with The Community Foundation for Ireland. More details are available at Sligo Children’s Community Garden.
Ruth’s practice is rooted in research, collaboration, and fieldwork centered on water’s potential in various forms—Arctic icebergs, the Baltic Sea, and Irish lakes and waterfalls. Her work explores the mystical, mythical, and metaphysical forces interacting with water, emphasising the deep connection between human bodies, other bodies, and all forms of water, highlighting our intrinsic link to nature.
