Naomi Drapers practice focus’ on the collection, preservation and archiving of found material, and how these activities enable particular relationships between human, plant species and other matter. She is interested in the potential of materials to become active participants in our learning and development.
Naomi has participated on a number of residency programmes within contemporary art institutions; including the Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh, LOCIS Residency at Residence Botkyrka, Sweden, and The Model, Sligo. She recently completed a three year curatorial residency at Roscommon Arts Centre (2021-2023).
In 2024 Naomi presented a solo exhibition, – but if I could understand what you are root and all and all in all.. Through this exhibition she reflected on her role as a curator and how it correlated with her making practice over a three year period. In July 2025 a new iteration of this evolving collection of works will travel to Esker Arts Centre, Tullamore.
Naomi has presented solo exhibitions at the Mattress Factory Art Museum, Pittsburgh (2020), at Limerick City Gallery of Art (2018) and Artbox Projects, Dublin (2017).
