Kids’ Own is pleased to announce a new creative project that will work with LGBTQ+ young people in Roscommon to explore their experiences, ideas, and hopes for the future through art and writing.
Developed in partnership with Foróige and Roscommon Arts Centre, the project will create space for young people to express themselves openly and reflect on issues that matter to them — from identity and belonging to wellbeing and visibility in their communities.
Through a series of creative workshops led by a professional artist and writer from Kids’ Own, participants will work collaboratively to share their stories and perspectives in ways that feel true to their lived experiences. The process will focus on creative exploration and dialogue, with the aim of developing a youth-led resource that represents their voices and insights.
The project will also help to strengthen understanding among youth workers, educators, and wider community members about the experiences of LGBTQ+ young people in the region.
This new partnership reflects Kids’ Own’s ongoing commitment to giving children and young people meaningful opportunities to express themselves through the arts, and to have their voices valued and heard within society.
