by Kids’ Own
Kids’ Own is proud to announce a new project in collaboration with Aoibhneas Domestic Abuse Support, a refuge and support service for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Together, we’ll be working on a creative journey that places young people at the heart of the process, giving them a safe space to express themselves creatively through art and writing.
In 2025, children and young people connected with Aoibhneas will take part in a series of arts-based workshops led by Kids’ Own Associate Artist and Writer. These sessions will provide a space for participants to reflect, create, and connect through imaginative activities designed just for them.
At the end of this creative journey, the young participants’ artwork and writing will be brought together in a book that reflects the authentic voices of the participants. This publication will provide a support for other children going into the refuge for the first time.
By combining Kids’ Own’s expertise in collaborative arts practice and publishing and Aoibhneas’ invaluable support for families, this collaboration will create something truly unique.
Stay tuned for updates as we share more about this meaningful and inspiring initiative. We look forward to showcasing the creativity and resilience of these young voices.
This project is kindly funded by Dublin City Arts Office.
