Naomi Draper

Naomi’s practice is made up of two working methods; she has a studio practice that is focused around drawing and sculptural process, and also develops work in a range of workshop led and collaborative situations. These activities are equally important and inform one another. Naomi is continuously interested in finding ways to connect and collaborate with others. Through this practice of working she is interested in exploring how we communicate and develop a platform to share, exchange and learn from one another.

Naomi has participated on a number of residency programmes within contemporary art institutions, community and educational contexts; including Residence Botkyrka (Sweden), Sligo Arts Services, Fingal County Council, Roscommon County Council, Leitrim County Council, The Model (Sligo), The Dock (Carrick on Shannon), Roscommon Arts Centre, Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership, Sligo Mental Health Services, and The Brothers of Charity (Boyle). Her work with these organisations has enabled her to develop a collaborative practice, with a particular focus on education settings, working predominantly with artists, educators, healthcare practitioners and young people.

Last year Naomi presented a solo exhibition at Limerick City Gallery of Art. In 2019 she will develop a new project with the Mattress Factory Art Museum, Pittsburgh.
