Kids’ Own has recently developed and led an exciting new project exploring gender equality with first and second year students at St Louise’s College, Belfast. The aim of the project was to bring the voices of girls in their early teen years into the foreground on this issue.
Working alongside writer and artist Alice Lyons, and artists Sharon Kelly and Éanna Mac Cana, the participants creatively responded to the question “what is it like to be a girl today?” The group produced striking artwork and writing in their exploration of their experiences as girls.
The project will culminate in the production of an animated video piece created from the girls’ work. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting piece!
