Children Who Foster Project

This project works with children of families that foster through a meaningful creative process to produce a book on their experiences. In August 2022, the young people worked with Mary and Karina over a number of workshops. They met at the Northside Community Centre in Sligo. They had a great time getting to know each other through different creative activities each day, including making marks with paint and working with clay. The young people also developed stop-motion animations, creating storyboards for each animation. Alongside their work with artist Karina, the young people also spoke about their experiences of having foster siblings with writer Mary. Kids’ Own are in the process of developing their work into a book publication and look forward to continuing to work with the young people on this. We will also publish their animated videos, so watch out for them!
