A beak like a banana – free book to celebrate Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day, we are sharing this a beautiful, simple-to-follow guide on how to explore your neighbourhood environment. With Covid-19, we are all getting to know our immediate environments more intimately. This child-centred book will guide you through imaginatively inspecting your environment using sight, sound, smell and touch to help us appreciate the world around us – whilst having lots of fun!

At the back of the book there is a handy field trip planner to help you plan your outdoor adventure. This book was made by children in St Patrick’s National School, Maugherow, Co Sligo with the help of teacher Laura McNulty and Seonag Macpherson in 2016. The project was facilitated by artist Orla Kenny, environmental scientist Declan Feeney and writer Jo Holmwood.

Happy Earth Day!
