What factors influence our decisions about the way we travel? What can we discover by choosing new ways of travelling from one place to another? How can we encourage children and families to explore the outdoors and think differently about their journeying experiences in their local area? These were just some of the questions we explored with children in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, as part of our ‘Smarter Travel’ book project with Go Dungarvan and Waterford Childcare Committee.
Children from Le Cheile Community Childcare Service, Little School of Montessori, Scoil Garbhain and St Mary’s National School took part in creative workshops led by Kids’ Own. Through the children’s stories and artwork, the project sought to recognise and draw on the power of the child’s voice as an influencing factor on adult behaviours.
