Artist Sharon Kelly has collaborated with Kids’ Own on a number of bookmaking and residency projects, most recently Too Cold for Sharks, a book project and national ocean and coastal safety initiative with the Health and Safety Authority (2014/15); Smarter Travel, a book project exploring the way we travel and how we might do it differently (2014/15); and Only a Giant Can Lift a Bull, a book project and national farm safety initiative with the HSA (2013).
Sharon has been artist in residence as part of the Virtually There programme at St. Patrick’s Primary School, Crossmaglen, Co. Down, since 2011. She is currently an exhibiting artist on the Virtually There exhibition and event tour (2014/15).
In over 20 years as a practising artist, Sharon has enjoyed studio-based practice; exhibiting nationally and internationally; collaborative projects with other arts practitioners (poet, dancer, choreographers); and has participated in educational projects in a spirit of exploration. She likes to draw, paint, use photography, video, collage things, sew and she likes to run!
