Mags Walsh - Children's Books Ireland

Mags Walsh is Director of Children’s Books Ireland, the national children’s books organisation.

CBI is involved in many activities and aims to engage young people with books, create greater understanding of the importance of books for young people and resource everyone with an interest in books for children. Mags, a graduate of UCD, previously worked at The Ark, the cultural centre for children in Temple Bar, Dublin. During her time at the Ark she produced the stage adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's book The day I swapped my Dad for 2 goldfish which was nominated as best production in the Irish Times/ESB Irish Theatre Awards. She also programmed the Children's Season of The Dublin Theatre Festival in 2003 and 2004 including work from South Africa, Ireland, Holland and Portugal.

Helen Carey

Helen Carey is an independent curator and project manager in Dublin, Ireland. Formerly Public Art Project Manager at for At-Bristol http://www.at-bristol.org.uk , Director of  Galway Arts Centre , Ireland and inaugural Director of the Centre Culturel  Irlandais , Paris, Helen currently works on Irish and international projects.  She has most recently curated OFF CENTRE with the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Dublin, and is Curator for TULCA 2009, in Galway.

Anne O' Gorman-

Anne O Gorman is Senior Project Officer, Youth Arts at the National
Youth Council of Ireland where she oversees the NUI Certificate in Youth
Arts and The Artist in Youth Work Residency Scheme among other projects.
Previous to this appointment she developed and ran The Children and
Youth Arts Programme at Draiocht, Blanchardstown and worked at the
Outreach Dept of the Abbey Theatre.
For Draiocht, she designed and managed projects such as 'The Adventures
of Me', a pre-reading project for under 5s (cited in the NESF report on
Literacy and Social Inclusion) and 'Tell Your Story' A multicultural
arts project with The Chester Beatty Library.

While a freelance drama practitioner, Anne ran Strange Snow Youth
Theatre in South Tipperary and was Irish Animateur at EDERED (European
Drama Encounter) in Vienna, 2004.

Anne has a BA in English and Applied Psychology from University College
Cork and a HDip in Arts Administration Studies from University College
Dublin.
